WEEKLY ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE COURSE


Our Branch, in cooperation with the Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, have instituted a weekly "English as a Second
Language Course", during the regular School year, where as individuals are able to gain the working knowledge of the
English Language.

Upon completion of this Course, many of these students are able to take and pass their G.E.D., and some go on to
Higher Education Institutions and or Trade Schools.


WEEKLY SENIOR CITIZEN SOCIAL SERVICES PROGRAM


Our Branch, in cooperation with the Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, have instituted a weekly Senior Citizens Social
Service Program, where we provide a diversified range of services to the elderly, such as Free Notary Services, Free
Income Tax Preparation, assisting in completing Utility and Governmental Assistance forms, and Health Fairs.


AN URGENT APPEAL OF MONETARY ASSISTANCE FOR THE CHILDREN
OF THE WORLD


Our Club is making an appeal for monetary contributions to purchase the United Nations UNICEF "School-In-A-Box" kits.

AUGUST 2011


Our Branch Members, along side of the Police and

Fire Fighters Lions Club Members, held our

Annual English as a Second Language (ESL) Course Registration Drive.

As every year, sinced the beginning of the Program,

we have more applications than allotted for the program, with over 375 submitted.

We have achieved the State Mandated Maximum of 75 Registered Students,

with six (06) home bound Students, and they are now preparing for our 2011-2012 School year.

We wish all our Students the Best of Luck this School year.

Our Branch Members continue to participate in the Weekly Senior Programs with

the Police and Fire Fighters. We are proud to say,

that we have more Branch Members participating in this expanding weekly Program.

have achieved 100% Perfect Attendance, and have recieved their

2010-2011 LCI 100% Perfect Attendance Award Pin.

SEPTEMBER 2011


Our Members have been very active in our weekly RSL Classes and Senior Programs, along with the MCPFFLC Members.

The Programs activities are increasing each month, and our Members are very excited participating with this Program.


Annual Health Awareness Screening in October, and along with

the MCPFFLC Members, we have been meeting and coordinating with the

two (02) Lions Clubs in Chinatown in setting up this event.


OCTOBER 2011


We continue to be very active in our weekly ESL and Senior Program,

along with the MCPFFLC Members. This year's Student Class appear to be adapting faster

than in previous years. The Senior Program has added additional activities,

such as Computer and Cooking Classes. We have Students from area High Schools assist us in this event.

We also have have a Culinary School in the area, that assist us with our Cooking Program.

We held our Annual Joint District 14-A and 14-R Halth Awareness Screening

in Philadelphia's Chinatown. The event was a complete success, with over 70 Volunteers providing

Hearing, Vision, Diabetes Screenings, and Flu Shots.

We held a Mini Flu Shots Program at the Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic

Church and School, along with the MCPFFLC Members. We held our Annual Halloween Safe Kids Fair, along with Members

of the MCPFFLC. We were so excited that over 400 children and

parents attended this year's event. They were provided with a Safe Enviroment,

and enjoyed the games, winning candy, toys and prizes.

We will continue to support and participate at next year's event.


NOVEMBER 2011


We continue to participate with our weekly ESL and Senior Programs.

The ESL Classes are having great attendence, and improving over last year's Class.

We held another Joint District 14-A and 14-R Health Awareness Screenng, and Flu Shots Program.

We had over a 100 Volunteers, providing Hearing, Vision, Diabetes Screening, and

Free Flu Shots to the Community at the Greater Philadelphia Overseas Chinese Association Center.

Along with the MCPFFLC Members, we gave away 150 Holiday Food Baskets,

to needy residents of the Norristown area. We provided 15 lbs Turkeys

or a 10 lbs Can Hams, along with all the fixings.


DECEMBER 2011


This year Santa and his wife, along with their Lions Helper Elves,

visited several Schools, Head Start Programs, Assisted Living Facilities

and Nursing Homes, along with the MCPPFLC Members, providing a Free Breakfast,

Toys, Games, Candies, Bears, and Toiletries for the Seniors and Residents.

This year along with the MCPFFLC Members we gave away 175 Holiday Food Baskets,

which included a 20 lb. Turkey or a 10 lb. Can Ham, with all the fixings,

to the needy residents of the Norristown area.

Besides our regularly scheduled monthly events, Members of our Branch

also attended the Cabinet Meeting, Banner Exchange, and Special Election.

Members of our Branch also attended the Korean-American Lions Club 6th. Annual Charter Night Celebration.

LCI 2010-2012 Director James A. Cavallaro was their Special Guest Speaker.

Other guest in attendance, were District Governor John C. Holland,

1st. Vice-District Governor Paul Barndt, Sr., and Members from the

Police and Fire Fighters, Hatboro, and the SALUS University Campus Lions Clubs.



OCTOBER 2010



Besides our regularly scheduled events, our Members participated in

three (03) Philadlphia area Communities Health Fairs, providing Vision, Hearing, Diabetic Screenings,

and free flu shots to over 600 Community residents.


Along with the Police and Fire Fighters,

we held our Annual Halloween Safe Kids Fair,

providing a safe enviroment, with food, games, candy, and prizes

for over 425 children in the Upper Darby Area, at the Crossroads Community Church.



NOVEMBER 2010



Besides our regularly scheduled events, our Members participated in two (02)Health Fairs

in the Asian Communities of
Philadelphia, with over 400 free Flu shots given.


Along with the Police and Fire Fighters, we provided over 125 Holiday Food Baskets

to needy residents in the area.


Members also attended the SALUS University-Eye Institute's Children Fund Raising event.


Our Branch Coordinator attended the District 14-R Rally.



DECEMBER 2010



Besides our regularly scheduled monthly events, our members,

along with the Police and Fire Fighters

provided over 150 Holiday

Food Baskets to needy residents in the area.


Members attended the MONTCO of Norristown Lions Club Pancake Breafast Fundraising event.


Along with the Police and Fire Fighters, we sent over 100 Holiday Baskets

to our Troops serving abroad in Iraq and Afghanistan.


Along with the Police and Fire Fighters, we held our Annual Breakfast with Santa,

providing a free Breakfast, toys, candy, and bears to over 300 Students

in the Head Start Program, at several Public Schools and two (02) YMCAs.


Our Members assisted Santa at two (02) Assisted Living Facilities,

providing them with toiletries, candy, books and games.


We also sent School Supplies to Indonesia, Philippines, and China.



JANUARY 2011



Besides our regularly scheduled events, our Members

are preparing for our upcoming Health Fair Events in the Spring and Summer.

We will be having a Children's Health Fair, at the Lansdowne (Upper Darby) YMCA,

on April 16, another in the Hispanic Community in Norristown on June 25,

along with the MCPFFLC and the Eye Institute.

We welcome all Lions. Lioness, and Leo Clubs to join us....

We hope to expand our Services in the Community,

and are looking for additional Sponsors or Health Care Partners to assist us.

MARCH 2011



With all the disasters happening here in the United States

and around the World, our Members are very active in

seeking contributions for the LCIF relief efforts.

Along with our regular weekly and bi-weekly events and activities,

our Branch to date, has collected over $2,250.00,

and along with the MCPFFLC Members we are going to purchase Military Surplus Tents and Cots,

and ship them to Japan, to assist in the reief efforts.



APRIL 2011



Along with our regular weekly and bi-weekly events and activities,

we were able to ship 100 tents and 600 Cots to Japan.

It was due to the cooperation with China Shipping Company,

that we were able to ship these items for free. Thank-you China Shipping Company.

We would also like to acknowledge the generous contributions

made by our Lion Branch Coordinator Lisa Dong and Lion Jin Ren. Thank-you...

We are seeking additional Contributions for our Neighbors

in the Southern Areas of the United States, with the Tornados

especially throughout Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina.

They really require our assistance immediately,

and we hope you will be very generous, so we can help those affected.

We intend sending Bottled water and cleaning supplies

to Lions Clubs in the affected areas for dstribution.

MAY 2011



Along with our regular weekly and bi-weekly activities,

our Branch has been very active with the LCIF World Relief Efforts here in the United States and Abroad.


JUNE 2011



We have held our Graduation Ceromony and Ball for our ESL Class.

We are very pleased, that we can offer this free service to the Community every year.

We look forward to having our 2011-2012 ESL Class in the Fall.

We are please to announce, that we have a new Member. Lion Fang Yi He, the brother of one of our Members, Henry Ye.
Welcome aboard Fang Yi.


We are Honored that, Immediate Past District Governor (IPDG) Steve Hilbmann will formally induct Lion Fang Yi He, at a
Special Induction Meeting being held, at the Diamond Deli, 901 Diamond Street, in Philadelphia, from 2:00 PM to 4:00
PM, on September 03, 2009. Please make every effort to attend this Special Induction Meeting. Thank-you.


SEPTEMBER 2009


Fourteen (14) Members attended the Special Induction Meeting on September 03, 2009. IPDG Steve & PDS Sally
Hilbmann were our Guests. IPDG Steve Officially Inducted Lion Fang He, and presented him with the Lions Membership
Pin, along with his personal District Governor's Pin. Branch Coordinator Fang (Lisa) Dong presented him with the Club's
Membership Packet, and formally welcomed Lion Fang He to the Club.


Our Club participated in "Operation Stand Down" at the Veterans Hospital in Philadelphia. This two (02) day event, which
is held every year, at many locations throughout the United States, provides Medical and other Services to Homeless
Veterans. We had an excellent turnout with over 300 Veterans served. Our Members are already looking forward to next
year's event.


OCTOBER 2009


Members of our Club, MCPFFLC, Korean-American Lions Club, and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO), of
SALUS University Lions Club, participated in a Health Fair, at the Zion Baptist Church, in Ambler, PA. Over 200 residents
of the area received Health Screenings, including Vision Screenings by PCO, and Flu Shots, given by Members of the
MCPFFLC.


Members of our Club, MCPFFLC, Korean-American Lions Club, and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO) of
SALUS University Lions Club, participated in a Health Fair at Greater Philadelphia Asian Social Services (GPASS), in
Phladelphia, PA. Over 300 residents of the area received Health Screenings, including Vision Screenings by PCO, and
Flu Shots, given by Members of the MCPFFLC.


Our Club has made a monatary donation to the Humanitarian Mission, which is being lead, by PDG Steve Hilbmann to the
Philippines, Indonesia, and Samoa. He will be shipping New School Supplies to these affected area, in which he will
coordinate the distribution, along with Local Lions of 301 (Philippines) and 307 (Indonesia), when he arrives there in
January 2010. There is a deadline of Novemebr 15, 2009 for him to ship these items, so we urge you to make your
contributions prior to that date. Thank-you...


Our Branch Coordinator and Vice-Coordinator, Lion Lisa and Jay Dong, will be leaving on vacation for China, on October
27, 2009. In there absence, Lion Titan Ren will be the Designated Officer of the Branch, and will coordinate any activities
through the Branch Liaison PDG Steve Hilbmann.


Our Club, along with the Korean-American Lions Club assisted the MCPFF Lions Club at their Halooween Safe Kids Fair
in Upper Darby, PA. This is their 4th. Annual event to provide children with a Safe Enviroment for "Trick-or-Treat". They
had Games, Prizes, Food, Entertainment, and Candy for more than 400 Children and Parents that attended. We were
very excited about this event, and have voted to participate with this Event again next year.

DG Steve & Lion Sally Hilbmann, along with ten ( 10 ) Members of our Club, attended Lions Henry and Yan Yan He's
Wedding in New York City.

From the stage, being Proud Lions as they are, introduced their Fellow Lions to their Wedding Guests.

It was an exciting evening, and we wish Lions Henry and Yan Yan, the Best, that Life can offer.

Our Club had the pleasure of Hosting a Luncheon, for the Honorable PDG Anthony W. Paradiso, from New York, and DG
Stewart (Steve) H. Hilbmann. PDG Anthony will be the Guest Speaker at our District 14-R Rally. We were able to provide
them with an overview of our Programs and Activities. We appreciate their time and consideration in visiting our Club.

We had Five (05) Members of our Branch, assist the MONTCO Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, in their Registration
Program, for the English as a Second Language Course.


We have Seventy Five ( 75 ) New Students this year, with Two ( 02 ) being Homebound. We will have Five ( 05 ) of our
Members assisting, during this year's Program.


We also have Three ( 03 ) Members assisting them, with their Bi-weekly Senior Program.

SEPTEMBER 2007


Seven (07) of our Members assisted the MONTCO Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, with their Bi-Weekly Senior
Assistance, and Weekly English as a Second Language Programs.


We held a very successful Senior Awareness Program, in the Chinese Community, and provided them with County
Services Directories, and free Blood Pressure Screenings. Twelve (12) Members assisted in this Activity.




OCTOBER 2007


Six (06) of our Members, assisted the MONTCO Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, with their Bi-Weekly Senior Citizen
Assistance, and Weekly English as a Second Language Programs.


We also assisted in their Halloween Safe Kids Night, a Safe Alternative for "Trick-orTreat". We provided $400.00 in
Candies and Supplies, to this year's event. Eight (08) Members assisted in this Activity.




NOVEMBER 2007


Six ( 06) Members, assisted the MONTCO Police & Fire Fighters Lions Club, with their Bi-Weekly Senior Citizen
Assistance, and Weekly English as a Second Language Programs.


A Joint Holiday Activity with our Parent Club "The MONTCO Police & Fire Fighters Lions Club". We delivered Seventy

JANUARY 2008


Six ( 06 ) Members, assisted the MONTCO Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, with their Bi-Weekly Senior Citizen
Assistance, and weekly English as a Second Language Programs.


We are now in the preparation phase, of becoming an Official Lions Club. On behalf of our Officers and Members, we
wish to extend our Appreciation to VDG Steve & Lion Sally Hilbmann. It was through their Commitment, Support and
Dedication to our Club, that we hope to be able to submit our Charter Application to LCI in late May.

Bi-Weekly " Senior Awareness " Programs. Five ( 05 ) Members participated in the District's International Health
Awareness Festival at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.




APRIL 2008


Our Branch Coordinator attended the District Convention.


Six ( 06 ) Members participated in our Parent Club's Weekly " English as a Second Language " Classes, and Bi-Weekly "
Senior Awareness" Programs.




MAY 2008


Our Club donated $1,000 to the China Relief Fund. Please join us in this venture, and be generous.

VIEW OUR 2006-2007 LIONS CALENDAR YEAR OF EVENTS




To date, we have collected $400.00 (U.S.) for the Leader Dog Program, and also collected 300 pair of used Rx Glasses.
We have placed Donation Containers, in many Business locations, and are willing to pick up large amount of used
Donated Rx Glasses. We are also seeking Donations, of used Ink Cartridges and Cell Phones. Please contact us, if there

MARCH 2007


Our Branch Lions Club provided the transportaion, for the Attendees of the Lions Day with the United Nations. It was a
Privilege, in our Support of Lionism, and to our Fellow Lions, to be able to assist in this Activity.




AWARDS


Lion Titan Ren, Club Activities Chairperson, has received an Appreciation Award, from our Parent Club, the Montgomery
County Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, for his partcipation and arrangements, of the transportation.




We would also like to express our gratitude to him, for "A JOB WELL DONE"!!!




APRIL 2007


Our Branch Lions Club participated, in the "Opening Eyes Program ( Special Olympics ) in Philadelphia, directed by PA
MD-14-H Zone Chairperson Dr. Amy M. Neil, and the Students from the Eye Institute. We also provided the snacks and
refreshments, for the Volunteers.


Our Leader Dog Collection Jars, for April, totaled $100.00, collected 150 Rx Eye Glasses, and Five 05) Cell Phones. We
are requesting anyone wishing to Donate Glasses or Used Cell Phones, we would be very happy to pick them up.

MAY 2007


Members of our Club, due to other commitments, were not able to attend the Korean-American Lions Club's Charity
Fundraiser, for the Preservation of Ivy Green Lions Memorial Garden (Helen Keller's Birthplace), on May 05th., but we did
send them a Donation, and wish them the Best of Luck, in having a very succesful event.


Saturday Morning, May 12th., several of our Members joined the Police and Fire Fighters Lions Club, at a Mini-Health
Fair and Senior Awareness Day, at a Chinese Catholic Church. Lions Information
Brochures were handed out, along with Membership Applications in Chinese. Several individuals, appeared to be
interested in joining, and requested additional information, which we provided. We will follow-up with these Prospective
Members, in the hope, that they will join us soon.


Saturday Evening, May 12th., our Members, in Support and Appreciation, of the Police Fire Fighters Lions Club's, English
as a Second Language Course, held an Informal Graduation Party, for the Graduating Students, their Spouse or Guest,
and the Staff. Many of our own Members Graduated from this Course, and have continued further, with their Educational
Studies. Several of our Alumni Members, are presently attending Temple and Holy Family Universities.




We wish them all success, in their future endeavors. GOOD LUCK GRADUATES...


Our Branch Liaison, Lion Stewart (Steve) H. Hilbmann, has Recruited and Sponsored Three (03) New Members, for our
Branch Club. We now need only Three (03) more to become Chartered, as an Official Lions Club.
