OUR REGULAR WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE

We have Six(06) State Licensed Teachers and Twelve (12) Lion Members, that are Court Certified Interpreters and also Assistant Instructors, along with Ten (10) Support Staff Volunteers.

Our initial Goal in 2003, was to assist Non-English Speaking individuals to become more proficient, in their English communicating skills, in cases of an Emergency, i.e. Contacting Police and Fire Departments. The Program was so popular and successful, that we decided to expand it to a Full English as a Second Language Program in 2004, including a High School GED Preparation Course. We had applied to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for the additional resources and assistance, and now our Program is Certified.

Along with this Free ESL Program, the Students are also provided with the required classroom materials at no charge. On our Website Learning Center, home bound individuals with disabilities, are able to participate in the ESL Program. We will be having our open enrollment, for the 2011-2012 Program, beginning on August 01, 2011, and ending on August 15, 2011.

There are State Mandated Class Size Limits of Seventy Five (75), which is due to the number of Teachers and Staff we have. Please contact us on our Website, to arrange an appointment. No applications will be accepted, after August 15, 2011, so please register early. Thank-you.
